Audience numbers
Updated . We're re-measuring. Until a recent analytics fix, this site reported most visits to Google Analytics through two separate tags at once, so GA4 counted many readers twice and placed some of them at Cloudflare data centres instead of where they read. Visits are now reported through a single tag. We'll publish audience figures here once 30 days of clean data are in, with the method stated.
Until then, email us and we'll share what we can measure today, with its caveats. We don't claim readers' job titles, seniority, employers or budgets: Google Analytics doesn't measure them and we don't ask.

Formats
- Sponsored deep dive — a technical article in your product's problem space, written in-house by BackendBytes to the same sourcing standards as every other article and labelled as sponsored. You review it for technical accuracy; you don't write it.
- Affiliate partnership — if your product has an affiliate program, it can appear in a clearly labelled partner box, but only in articles that already recommend your category of tool on its merits. The recommendation comes first; a partnership never creates one.
- Calculator sponsorship — a sponsor credit on one of our 4 free calculators: Postgres Connection Pool Sizer, Kafka Partition & Retention Calculator, Redis Memory Sizer and LLM Conversation Cost Calculator. The calculators get little traffic today, so this is a small placement.
Newsletter: sponsorships have not launched. We don't sell placements in the newsletter today, and this page will say so when that changes.
